CNPC's Southwest Field Produces Record Gas
State-owned CNPC’s Southwest Oil and Gas Field, located in the Sichuan basin, produced a record 22.63bn m3 of natural gas in 2018, an increase of 1.6bn m3 over 2017, it said January 11.
In the last five years, output from the field has increased by 10bn m3, CNPC added.
Last week, CNPC said PetroChina produced 4.27bn m3 of shale gas in Sichuan last year, up 40% on 2017. CNPC is PetroChina’s parent company.
PetroChina operates Changning-Weiyuan and Zhaotong projects in Sichuan basin.
