Contracts Awarded for Juliet Field
GDF SUEZ E&P UK, British arm of the international energy supplier, has awarded energy infrastructure specialist Technip an engineering, procurement, installation and construction contract for the Juliet project.
Juliet is located 40 kms east of the Humberside estuary, on the south west margin of the Southern North Sea gas basin, at a depth of around 40 metres. GDF Suez has a 51.6% stake.
This contract, which is a tie-back to the Pickerill A platform, will cover the installation of components including a rigid flow line, a riser and a 100-ton manifold. See here for full details.
Technip’s operating centers in Aberdeen, Scotland and in Oslo, Norway will work in conjunction. The offshore campaign is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2013 and will use vessels from the Technip fleet, including the Apache II and Normand Pioneer.
Juliet was discovered by well 47/14b-10 in 2008 and the well flowed at 38 mmscfd. First gas is scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year.
The Juliet structure lies on the edge of the south west margin of the Southern North Sea gas basin. The reservoir sands consist of the gas-bearing Leman sandstone which is the major producing gas reservoir in the basin. The closest producing field from this reservoir is the Amethyst East field immediately to the east.
