Cooldown LNG Cargo Arrives at Oz-based Ichthys LNG

The LNG tanker which is to be used to cool down the Ichthys LNG project’s tanks ahead of its start-up has arrived in Australia’s Northern Territory, an Inpex spokesperson confirmed to NGW April 27.

Local media NT News reported that the Pacific Breeze LNG carrier was cruising through Darwin Harbor April 26.

The tanker will be used to cool down the tanks and pipes of Ichthys, which is a process used to help smooth the start-up of LNG plants. Japan's Inpex operates Ichthys.

An Inpex spokesperson said earlier in the week that the commissioning of Ichthys LNG will be completed between April and May with the production and shipments of condensate, LNG and LPG following in sequence.
