Cyprus Mail: DEFA chief sacked by cabinet

THE CABINET has decided to fire the chairman of Cyprus’ natural gas company, DEFA, because of serious misconduct, government spokesman Christos Stylianides said yesterday.

Stylianides said the decision to sack DEFA chairman Costas Ioannou came after the attorney-general handed over a report to President Nicos Anastasiades. Stylianides did not disclose details.

He said that the commerce minister – as the relevant official – would forward the cabinet’s decision to DEFA. “Other clarifications will be given by the commerce minister as soon as possible,” Stylianides said.  MORE
