InCyprus: Cyprus, Egypt leaders to focus on energy

Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades on Monday afternoon will holds talks in New York with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi expected to focus on regional energy cooperation.

The meeting, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, comes weeks only after Egypt’s discovery of Zohr – a mammoth natural gas field which neighbours a plot in Cyprus’ Exclusive Economic Zone.

Anastasiades and al-Sisi are set to discuss ways on how to jointly make best use of this development which is of high energy significance for the eastern Mediterranean. MORE
