Daewoo Shipbuilding Gets LNG Carrier Order from Seatankers

South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) has received an order for an LNG carrier from Norway’s Seatankers, the company said July 6. 

The carrier will have a capacity of 173,400 m3 and will be equipped with a natural gas propulsion engine and a full re-liquefaction system. The vessel will be built at the Okpo Shipyard and will be delivered in 2020. 

DSME said so far in 2018, it has won orders for a total of 28 vessels worth $3.54bn, including 12 LNG carriers, 15 large crude oil carriers, and one special vessel.
