Dart Energy CBM Application to Slide After Scotland’s Referendum

While the confrontation between Edinburg and London grows stronger, Dart Energy’s proposal to drill 22 boreholes across Scotland’s Letham Moss will be analysed after the independence referendum.

‘The appeal by Dart Energy against Falkirk Council's failure to determine its application for the development of a site on Letham Moss for coalbed methane production is being progressed by the Directorate for Planning and Environmental Appeals (DPEA),’ reads a note released by the Falkirk Council.

Given the technicality of the information involved, the Reporters opted for a lengthy process based on cross examination and inquiry sessions. Councils and appellant were asked to file additional environment information by 5 June. The pre-examination meeting is set to be in the first half of October.

Also here, as in many other areas of the UK, the population is concerned for possible environmental damages, while the company argues that explorations could positively impact on the finances of nearby communities.

Australia’s Dart Energy has a portfolio of CBM in Australia, Indonesia, India and China as well as in Europe.
