Dong Divests Dutch Sales Business to Eneco
Denmark’s Dong Energy signed an agreement to sell its sales activities in the Netherlands to Eneco, but it maintained its 5% stake in the Dutch LNG terminal. The two companies agreed that the sales price would not be disclosed.
‘Dong Energy Sales sells electricity and gas to residential and commercial customers and manages back-office-services to a third party. The transaction concerns the sales activities only,’ reads a note released on Tuesday.
According to the company, the divestment is still subject to merger control clearance in the Netherlands.
In December, the company disinvested from the United Kingdom, selling the gas-fired power station Severn to a consortium of investors led by Macquarie Group’s Infrastructure and Real Assets business.
