Dutch Gasunie Appoints New CFO

Dutch gas transmission company Gasunie has appointed Janneke Hermes as CFO from the start of the next gas year, October 1, it said May 7. She will succeed Rene Oudejans, who is stepping down from his role after seven years.

"The supervisory board would like to thank Rene Oudejans for his excellent contribution to Gasunie, which was much appreciated," said Rinse de Jong, the chair. "Rene let us know a while ago that he would not complete his second term, which is why we looked for a qualified successor. Janneke Hermes has sound knowledge of the energy market and in-depth financial expertise, and we are very confident that this appointment will ensure a balanced executive board."

"As a CFO, Rene Oudejans provided professionalism and stability, and made a key contribution towards Gasunie's transition," said Gasunie CEO Han Fennema. He said Hermes had proved herself “to be a result-driven manager with a broad background and a positive attitude."

Hermes is also manager of corporate finance and risk at Gasunie, a role which sees her responsible for treasury, project valuations and risk management, among other things. She joined Gasunie in 2002.

Gasunie operates Europe's largest gas hub, the title transfer facility; and a network in northwest Germany, where the Gaspool hub is. It also has a stake in Eugal, one of the onshore extensions of Nord Stream 2 that runs south through Germany.
