Eagle LNG takes delivery of new supply vessel
Eagle LNG Partners said October 16 it had taken delivery of its first LNG carrier, Coral Favia, from gas shipping company Anthony Veder, which will support Eagle’s supply and bunkering services in the Caribbean basin.
The arrival of the 10,000 m3 Coral Favia marks the beginning of a partnership between Eagle LNG and Anthony Veder, both long-time participants in the small-scale LNG bunkering and export industry.
For nearly a decade, Eagle LNG has been producing, storing, bunkering, and exporting LNG into the Caribbean and other countries from its LNG production facilities in Jacksonville, Florida. Anthony Veder owns modern gas carriers that it operates worldwide but specialises in small- to mid-scale LNG carriers for transporting and bunkering LNG.
“Eagle LNG has the highest regard for Anthony Veder’s success in bringing LNG as an economic and sustainable marine fuel around the globe,” said Simon Duncan, Eagle LNG’s vice president marine operations. “Since 2014, our interests in LNG transportation and bunkering have aligned.”
After relying on pipe-to-ship LNG bunkering, the acquisition of the Coral Favia was the next logical step in expanding Eagle LNG’s supply solutions portfolio, president Sean Lalani said.
“Having multiple new projects coming on-stream in the next several months, Eagle LNG is poised for exponential growth and the addition of this new LNG supply and bunkering capability enhances Eagle LNG’s core value proposition of an assured, secure supply chain bringing cost savings and energy transition solutions to our customers,” he said.
