Šefčovič said southeast European countries may have excessively relied on the projects of the Nabucco and South Stream gas pipelines, which have not eventually been implemented.
“I believe that we have succeeded in persuading these countries' representatives of that they must change their approach to the issue,” Šefčovič said.
He added that the European Commission is preparing a document that should show technical solutions to these countries and the EC's ability to help them financially take gas from minimally three sources.
