Egypt Amends Oil, Gas Deals With BP, RWE

Egyptian cabinet on Thursday agreed to amend two oil and natural gas agreements between the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and BP and Germany's RWE Dea, country’s State Information Agency reported.

Agreement with BP covers oil exploration in north Alexandria and Mediterranean Sea, and with RWE Dea at the Western Nile Delta region. The second natural gas agreement is between the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) and RWE Dea for the Disouq region of the Nile Delta.

The cabinet also approved draft presidential decrees on new ten oil agreements with the EGPC and six with the EGAS, State Information Agency added.
