Egypt, Jordan Sign Energy Cooperation MoU
Egypt and Jordan have agreed to work together in the field of oil and gas.
Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) and the Jordanian-Egyptian FAJR Company on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to cooperated in the sector, Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum said.
The MoU was signed to tap into the infrastructure and facilities available in the two countries, the Ministry announced.
Egypt’s Petroleum MInister Sherif Ismail pointed out that Egypt is keen to promote bilateral oil and gas sector cooperation and also strengthen cooperation to develop the Egypt-Jordan-Iraq gas pipeline.
The two countries also agreed to cooperate in the refining industry sector, which will see Egyptian company ENPPI conduct a study to evaluate Jordan’s Al-Zarka refinery.
