Egyptian Gas Supplies to Israel Disrupted
Supplies of natural gas from Egypt to Israel have been disrupted after a section of a pipeline that carries gas from Egypt to Israel and Jordan exploded.
The explosion occurred near the northern Sinai city of Arish. The blast is the latest in a series of attacks on the pipeline in recent months.
Egypt is a major supplier of natural gas to Israel with a share of 40%.
Natural gas sales have created a lot of controversies in Egypt with a section alleging that Israel gets Egyptian gas at prices below the market rates.
