Elixir's CBM pilot in Mongolia passes milestone
Australia’s Elixir Energy’s pilot project in its Nomgon IX CBM project in Mongolia has now been operational for over 100 days and the production from the Nomgon-8 and 9 wells reached 200,000 ft3/day for the first time, it said on March 1.
The company’s drilling programme for 2023 is due to start next month. “Our Nomgon pilot project continues to deliver the goods with an excellent flow rate from what are simple and shallow vertical wells. The pilot will continue in the weeks to come and we will provide further updates as it moves towards its conclusion,” Elixir managing director Neil Young said.

Elixir is also planning a green hydrogen pilot project in Mongolia. The company in January last year signed a memorandum of understanding with Mongolia Green Finance Corp to support project finance for the first phase of its Gobi H2 project.
