Empyrean Mobilises Rig for Indonesia Drilling
London-listed Empyrean Energy September 24 said the first well in the Duyung production sharing contract in Indonesia was expected to start soon.
“Empyrean has been advised that the Asian Endeavour-1 jack-up rig, owned by China Oilfield Services (COSL), has mobilised from Singapore and is now en-route to the location for the first well in the drilling campaign,” it said, adding that drilling operations were expected to start on time.
The campaign will comprise of two wells, an exploration well designed to test the Tambak prospect beneath the central area of the Mako gas field, and an appraisal well designed to primarily appraise the intra-Muda sandstone reservoir in the southern area of the Mako field, as well as gather stratigraphic information from the Lower Gabus interval, the company said. Empyrean holds an 8.5% interest in the Duyung production sharing contract.
