EnerMech wins Ichthys LNG contract
Aberdeen-based EnerMech has been awarded a five-year onshore and offshore inspection services, lifting equipment and crane maintenance contract by Japan’s Inpex to support the Ichthys LNG project in Australia, it said on April 12.
Starting in May, EnerMech will project manage and supply lifting and rigging equipment. It will also provide testing, certification and 24-hour crane maintenance and technical support.

Inpex made a final investment decision on the LNG facility in 2012 and gas production commenced six years later. Ichthys has a nameplate capacity of 8.9mn mt/yr.
