UK North Sea: Enoch Field Offline for the Rest of 2012

Roc Oil, a subsidiary of Australian ROC, has said that the Enoch oil and gas field is likely to be offline for the rest of 2012 following technical difficulties at the field.

Roc Oil, which is a 12 per cent stakeholder in the field in the UK North Sea, says it is waiting for information from operator Talisman Energy as to the next steps on the field. The company says it is waiting to hear from the operator what the work programme will be for the field and the potential costs of resolving the issues with the field to resume production at the field.

ROC says the field has been facing mechanical issues in its subsea equipment which it anticipates will cause the field to be offline for the rest of 2012. It did not detail what exactly the issues are with the subsea equipment.

ROC had expected the field to contribute 200 barrels of oil equivalent per day to its output for 2012 but says that its expectations for overall production output was not affected. The company's production guidance for 2012 remains at between 6,000 and 7,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day for 2012.

ROC also said that the technical difficulties on the field had not caused any environmental or safety issues at the field.
