The Baltic Course: Estonian government has warmed to Nord Stream
While the Estonian government's reaction to the building of the first two pipelines of the Russian-German gas pipeline Nord Stream was fierce criticism and environmental and security dangers were pointed out, now, when Nord Stream is planning to build two more pipelines and route them through Estonian waters, the attitude has become softer, LETA/Postimees writes.
Nord Stream's adviser in the Baltic States Romans Baumanis confirmed that installing the double pipeline in the Estonian waters is one of the options that the company considers. Currently the feasibility study is under way. "If the decision is made that routes passing though Estonian economic waters want to be used, we will turn to the Estonian authorities," he added. MORE
