European gas prices near one-year low
The front-month TTF gas contract continued its descent on January 3, closing at €72.3/MWh ($817/'000 m3), as LNG supply remains strong, mild weather continues and households and businesses maintain cuts to usage.
The contract is now trading at its lowest level since mid-February, weeks before Moscow launched its invasion of Ukraine and over the ensuing months the Kremlin reduced gas supply to Europe. The UK's NBP front-month contract has followed the same trend.
