Eustream: No Pressure Reduction or Volume Decrease from Ukraine on Thursday

Slovakia’s Eustream did not register any alteration of gas flows at the Compressor Station Veľké Kapušany on the border with Ukraine. Despite Gazprom’s decision to switch to prepayment from Monday, Russian gas has been transiting Ukraine without problems, reaching European markets as usual.

‘According to the state at 09:00 (CET), 19. June 2014 related to transmission from East to the European Union, Eustream didn´t record pressure reduction or gas volumes decrease at the Compressor Station Veľké Kapušany on the border with Ukraine,’ reads a note released on Thursday

In the meantime, Andriy Kobolyev, Chief Executive Officer of Naftogaz, said that Kiev wants to agree on a gas supply and pricing strategy with the European Union by July 2014.

"It is high time to unite the efforts of different countries to resolve the issue of gas pricing in a transparent manner,” Kobolyev told AFP as reported by Naftogaz’s website

Kobolyev sees room for stronger ties with Germany’s RWE, France’s GDF and “another major energy company.” He also said that the supply via Poland is running at full capacity, Hungary was moving in this direction and negotiations with Slovakia are continuing.
