EverGen inks 10-year RNG offtake deal with Irving Oil

Vancouver-based renewable natural gas (RNG) developer EverGen Infrastructure said November 7 it had signed a 10-year offtake agreement with New Brunswick’s Irving Oil for 60,000 GJ/year of RNG produced at EverGen’s Grow the Energy Circle (GrowTEC) facility in Lethbridge, Alberta.

Along with an existing offtake agreement with FortisBC, GrowTEC’s expected RNG production from both phases is now fully contracted.

“This marks another key milestone for EverGen, underpinning the completion of the GrowTEC Phase I RNG expansion with strong offtake partners in Irving Oil and FortisBC,” EverGen CEO Mischa Zajtmann said.

Phase 1 of the GrowTEC expansion is complete, while Phase 2, which includes a third anaerobic digestor and the addition of pre-processing and depackaging equipment to broaden the range of organic waste that can be processed, will increase total capacity to 140,000 GJ/year, EverGen said.

EverGen acquired a 67% interest in the farm-based GrowTEC facility in July 2022
