Excelerate's FSRU Exquisite in Pakistan completes 600th STS transfer

Excelerate Energy's FSRU Exquisite completed its 600th LNG ship-to-ship transfer at Port Qasim, Pakistan, last month, the company announced on July 15 in a LinkedIn post. The FSRU serves Engro Elengy Terminal, a joint venture between Engro and Vopak.

"We’re incredibly proud to reliably provide natural gas to our valued customer, Engro Elengy Terminal (Pvt.) Limited, and the people of Pakistan,” said Excelerate CEO David Liner.

The Engro Elengy terminal, Pakistan's first floating LNG import terminal, began operations in March 2015. The Exquisite currently fulfills up to 15% of Pakistan's domestic daily natural gas requirements and is recognised as the most utilised FSRU worldwide, according to Excelerate.

In 2020, Qatari shipowner Nakilat took over the technical ship management and operation of the Exquisite from Excelerate Technical Management. The FSRU is jointly owned by Nakilat and Excelerate Energy through a joint venture established in 2018. This is the first FSRU to be managed in-house by Nakilat.

Port Qasim also hosts another FSRU, which is operated by Pakistan GasPort.
