Exxon Expects Indonesian CBM Production this Year
ExxonMobil will expand operations to produce coal bed methane gas this year, a company official said.
Exxon will start by developing three CBM blocks in South Kalimantan - Banjar 1, Banjar 2 and Tapin, said Vasta C Choesin, exploration public affairs manager.
Exxon will drill at least 20 exploration wells in the three block in the first two years, according to Vasta.
Drilling of two wells started in Banjar 1 in March for pilot project to study the feasibility of the project, he said.
Exxon has a 49 per cent share in the project with PT Sugico, which owns the concession holding the majority 51 per cent.
