Focus: Gas, oil fields exploration kicks off in South Bulgaria

.“Studies on gas and oil fields in South Bulgaria kick off for the first time,” Bulgarian Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Delyan Dobrev announced for bTV.

“Bloc 1-18 Trakiya is the first to be explored. It covers the municipalities of Svilengrad, Madzharovo, Harmanli and Lyubimets. The terrain is part of the so-called oil and gas basin, which is spread on the territory of three countries – Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey. There are around 24 gas and 3 oil fields only on the territory of Turkey.”  MORE
