FT: Fracking licences granted in 13 cabinet members’ seats, study finds
More than half of Britain’s cabinet ministers could see shale gas exploited in their constituencies, according to research that will deepen the political row over fracking.
Ed Davey, the energy secretary, Theresa May, the home secretary, and William Hague, the foreign secretary are among 13 cabinet members shown to hold seats in which oil and gas drilling licences have been granted.
The research, conducted by Greenpeace, the environmental group, analyses the political constituencies in which the 176 onshore oil and gas drilling licences issued by the energy department are located. MORE
