Freeport LNG delays restart to second half of January
Freeport LNG said December 23 the time needed for regulatory agencies to review its progress making repairs would delay the restart of the 15mn metric tons/year liquefaction and export terminal until later in January.
In early December, Freeport said it would be able to restart the facility around the end of the year, pending regulatory approvals. In the weeks following the June explosion and fire that disabled the facility, the company said it would be operational again by October.

As of December 23, it said, reconstruction work needed to commence initial operations was “substantially complete” and responses had been filed to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s (FERC’s) December 12 data request.
“Given the time needed for the regulatory agencies to review the company’s responses and to seek any necessary clarification, Freeport LNG now does not anticipate commencing the initial restart of its liquefaction facility until the second half of January 2023.”
