Fuling Shale Output Inches Towards Target

Chinese producer Sinopec produced 4.08bn m³ from its Fuling field between January and October this year and is expected to reach the full year target of 5bn m³ soon, CNPC said via a note published on its website citing local new reports.

The value of the gas produced during January-September was yuan 10.56bn ($1.58bn), according to the Fuling economy and information commission. The first phase of Fuling shale gas field in Chongqing went into production last year. Earlier this year, Sinopec announced it is aiming to produce 10bn m³ of shale gas by 2020 from the field. It further stated that the target is to have production capacity of 15bn m³/yr by that year. Fuling shale gas field’s second phase is expected to be completed in 2017.

Accumulated production from the field since the start of operations is 8.4bn m³ while sales have been to the tune of 8.1bn m³.
