GAIL, EDF to Jointly Bid for Repsol's Atlantic LNG
GAIL India, in conjunction with EDF, has placed a non-binding bid for Repsol’s 11.5 million tonne per annum (mtpa) Atlantic LNG located in Trinidad and Tobago.
The two companies intend to go ahead with the bidding process if shortlisted, GAIL’s chairman, B C Tripathi said without talking about the possible valuation, DNA newspaper reported.
Repsol has been looking to sell its stake in in the profitable Atlantic project since last year.
As per various media reports, the two would be pitted against global energy giants like China’s Sinopec, Russia’s Gazprom and France’s GDF Suez (in consortium with China’s sovereign wealth fund CIC), DNA said.
