GAIL India Reports 8% Rise in Q4 Gas Sales

GAIL (India) Limited registered year on year increase of 8 percent in fourth quarter natural gas sales.

During the final quarter of the financial year 2015-2016 (Apr-Mar) that ended om March 31, 2016, India’s biggest gas processing and distribution company’s gas sales were 74.41 mmscmd compared. Natural gas transmission during the fourth quarter was 95.31 MMSCMD, an increase of 11% from 86.15 MMSCMD in the corresponding period last year.

Rise in gas sales and transmission volumes during the quarter boosted fourth quarter profits. GAIL reported 68 percent increase in its profit before tax (PBT) while profit after tax (PAT) jumped 51 compared with corresponding quarter of the previous year.

GAIL’s PAT was also up in the fourth quarter by 16 percent from over third quarter of 2015-2016 fiscal.

During the quarter, revenues from gas transmission business increased 11 percent on year.
