GAIL signs LNG carrier charter deal with Shell
Indian gas company GAIL announced on August 29 that it had signed a charter deal with Shell for an LNG carrier. The company shared the news via a social media post but did not provide further details about the agreement.
GAIL's LNG portfolio currently stands at approximately 14mn tonnes/year, supported by long-term contracts with major suppliers including Qatar, Gazprom, ExxonMobil (Gorgon LNG), and US-based companies Cheniere and Dominion, with pricing indexed to the Henry Hub.
Earlier in May, GAIL signed a time charter deal for an LNG carrier with CoolCo, a leading LNG carrier operator. Additionally, the company recently secured a 10-year agreement with Adnoc Gas, a subsidiary of the UAE’s Adnoc, to purchase 0.5 million tonnes of LNG annually.
