Gas Malaysia hikes gas price for Q2

Malaysian gas retailer Gas Malaysia has raised its gas prices by 21% quarter on quarter in the three months ending June 30 to 26.85 ringgit ($5)/mn Btu, it said on April 9 in a stock exchange filing.   

The price includes the transportation tariff of 1.19 ringgit/mn Btu, the legacy gas cost pass through of 0.62 ringgit/mn Btu and the distribution tariff of 2.05 ringgit/mn Btu.

Gas Malaysia clarified that this selling price revision is not applicable to the sales of natural gas for natural gas vehicles and liquefied petroleum gas supplied in gas cylinders or in bulk. 

Gas Malaysia supplies natural gas and LPG to homes, commercial businesses and industries in Malaysia. Apart from the general public, its shareholders include MMC Corporation, Tokyo Gas, and Petronas Gas.
