Gazprom and Eni Discuss South Stream
The heads of Gazprom and Eni met to discuss a number of joint energy projects, including the South Stream pipeline and the import of gas from the Samburgsky licensed block to Russia.
Chairman of Gazprom's Management Committee, Alexey Miller and Paolo Scaroni, Chief Executive Officer of Eni discussed the implentation of the South Stream project at the Gazprom headquarters in Russia.
Gazprom and Eni are stakeholders in the South Stream project, together EDF and Wintershall Holding the other two. A statement from Gazprom says that the project is running to schedule.
Preparation for an agreement between Gazprom and Eni also took place surrounding the supply of gas from the Samburgsky licensed block to the Unified Gas Supply System of Russia. The gas will be supplied from the Arcticgaz company, a subsidiary of Russian oil and gas company SeverEnergia.
Gazprom holds a 51 per cent stake in SeverEnergia, with Eni and Italian Enel holding the remaining 49 per cent in a joint venture.
