Gazprom Denies Gas Price Reduction for Ukraine

Russia’s Gazprom said that the gas price for Ukraine is not expected to decrease, while gradual payments are not on the company’s agenda.

“We don't have any documents on gradual payments for Ukraine," Gazprom spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov said as reported by Reuters.

"The gas price for Ukraine remains the same, as stipulated in our contract," Kupriyanov added. 

Ukraine resumed transit of Russian gas on Friday. The change seemed to pave the way to reconciliation with Moscow, but Kupriyanov’s words indicate that a final agreement could be far to come.
