Gazprom Moves on With Pipeline to China
Gazprom’s Alexey Miller said that the Russian company has been fast-tracking the construction of necessary infrastructures to ensure gas supply to China after the contract with Beijing had been signed on May 21.
‘As of today, the pre-development of the Chayandinskoye field as well as the construction of the Power of Siberia gas transmission system (GTS) and the Amur Gas Processing Plant are in full swing,’ reads a note released on Wednesday.
The company is working on the GTS from the Chayandinskoye field to Lensk, expecting this first section to be completed soon. Gazprom is also proceeding with the GTS section from Lensk to Svobodny and with design phase of the last section to the border with China.
“We have a particular action plan. All the responsibilities have been distributed and strict deadlines have been set. Our objective is to weld the Power of Siberia (GTS) first joint already this August,” Miller stated.
According to the contract signed, direct gas supplies should start in 2019.
