Gazprom Sees Big Drop in LNG Sales
Russian gas provider Gazprom reported a 1 million ton decrease in sales of liquefied natural gas (LNG) sales in the first nine months of 2012, compared with the same period in 2011.
Whereas sales in 2011 were 1.9 million metric tons, last year the figure was 0.9 million.
The state giant company gave the figures in a prospectus for a Eurobond sale, obtained by business newsagency Bloomberg.
Russia’s biggest gas producer sold 2.3 million tons of LNG in 2011, 1.9 million tons in 2010 and 1.4 million tons in 2009, the prospectus reported.
Gazprom operates the first Russian LNG plant on Sakhalin Island between the Sea of Okhotsk and the Sea of Japan.
