Standartnews.com: Gazprom: South Stream construction in Bulgaria and Serbia starts in summer as planned
The construction of the South Stream pipeline will be realised strictly according to the plans, the Gazprom Information Department stated. The main part of the pipeline construction in the territory of Bulgaria and Serbia will begin in summer 2014, Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller said as reported by the Voice of Russia.
The first quantities of gas will be delivered through the pipeline in late 2015, states the release.
The delivery of pipes for the gas pipeline to Bulgaria should begin in May, while the start of the constriction itself is expected to commence in June in Russia and in July in Bulgaria. The undersea pipes will be start being laid in the autumn.
Only South Stream can provide realistic guarantees to Europe in terms of energy security, Miller emphazised.
