Gazprom strikes four-year gas deal with Turkey's Botas

Russia's Gazprom announced on January 6 that it had signed a new four-year contract to supply Turkey's Botas with 5.75bn m3 of gas annually.

Gazprom did not disclose pricing terms, but it said the gas would be delivered to Turkey using the TurkStream pipeline from January 1. Its past contract with Botas expired at the end of last year and covered only 4bn m3 of annual gas supply.

Gazprom also sells gas to private importers in Turkey including Akfel Gaz, Enerco Enerji and Avrasya Gaz, which extended their contracts in late December, according to ICIS.

The Russian company supplied a total of 16.4bn m3 of gas to Turkey in 2020. Turkey also gets gas from Azerbaijan and Iran, as well as in LNG form from various suppliers.
