Gazprom to Keep Price for Belarus: Report
Gazprom considers it unnecessary to cut the gas price for Belarus, a senior executive told RIA Novosti. Gazprom exports its gas on the basis of the cost of production plus transportation, deputy board chairman Valerii Golubev, told RIA Novosti.
Belarus prime minister Andrei Kobiakov told RIA Novosti that Russian gas price for Belarus should be $80/’000 m³, not $142/’000 m³ as it averaged in the first quarter of the year.
“We have a very simple formula with Belarus. We take the price of gas extraction in Yamal-Nenetsk district and add transportation costs, nothing else. This was in the signed contract. Why do we need to sell gas to Belarus at the price lower, than we are selling it in Russia?” Golubev added. He said that Belarus, at the start of the second quarter, was paying $132/’000 m³.
