GE Oil & Gas Reinforces its Position in the UK
GE Oil & Gas will be the new sponsor of the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, reinforcing its position in the UK oil and gas industry.
‘The two parties have entered into a 10-year agreement which will see the Arena being re-named the GE Oil & Gas Arena, Aberdeen,’ reads a note released on Monday.
“GE Oil & Gas are delighted to have concluded an agreement with the AECC to be the Title Sponsor of the Arena ahead of the Offshore Europe event in September,” confirmed Rod Christie CEO of Subsea Systems at GE Oil & Gas.
Earlier this month, GE Oil & Gas announced that it would move its global headquarters from Florence to London. According to a note released in mid-July, Florence will remain the global headquarters for GE Oil & Gas Turbomachinery Products & Services, a more than $6 billion business and a ‘key manufacturing and engineering site for the production of centrifugal compressors and gas turbines.’ The new headquarters will be operational in London starting in January 2014.
“Our business is experiencing tremendous growth, we are busy recruiting additional employees and this deal will help us to create awareness of the fantastic opportunities the oil and gas industry offers and promote the GE Oil & Gas brand across the region as an employer of choice,” explained Christie.
