Enable Midstream Partners said September 24 it is planning to develop a 165-mile (266-km) pipeline in central Louisiana to provide a direct connection from the Haynesville shale gas region to the Gulf Coast region.
The company has launched a non-binding open season to attract expressions of interest for firm service on the Gulf Run Pipeline, but has already signed a precedent agreement with a cornerstone shipper for 20 years of 1.1bn ft3/day of firm service. The open season will close on October 26, 2018.
The cornerstone shipper will use the firm service to deliver feed gas to a planned LNG project in the Gulf Coast region of Louisiana. Enable Midstream did not identify either the cornerstone shipper or the planned LNG project.
Gulf Run would extend from Enable Midstream’s existing interstate CP line at Westdale, Louisiana to Starks, in southern Louisiana, with an extension to Gillis. The project will also include upgrades to the CP line to enhance and repurpose underutilised infrastructure in northern Louisiana and would provide up to 2.75bn ft3/day of capacity.
Enable expects to begin the permitting process with the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (Ferc) in 2019, and pending receipt of permits, regulatory approvals and a final investment decision on the LNG project expects to have the project in service in 2023.
