Gladstone Port LNG Exports at 1.63mn mt in April

Exports of LNG from Queensland’s Gladstone Port stood at 1.63mn metric tons in April compared with 1.58mn mt in March, according to the latest data published by the Australian port operator.

China, South Korea and Japan remained the top destinations. Exports to China during the month were 800,032 mt compared with 684,997 mt last month. Exports to South Korea were 308,485 mt verses 432,155 mt last month. Total shipments to Japan were 199,768 mt compared with 268,344 mt in March. Other significant export destinations were Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and India.

Exports have risen as more coalbed methane-LNG trains have come on stream on Curtis Island. Gladstone Port expects the trend of rising exports to continue in the current year as well.
