Stirling Observer: Greens warn of up to 600 gas wells in Forth Valley

Stirling Greens have raised concerns about the first commercial, unconventional gas production development in the UK proposed for near Airth.

Dart Energy has applied for planning permission to both Falkirk and Stirling councils for a major expansion of their trial Coal Bed Methane (CBM) operation.

Greens warn that granting the CBM expansion in Airth will result in a deluge of applications for unconventional gas wells drilled across Scotland, directing energy policy away from renewables and impacting local communities.  MORE
