GTT Gets Order for LNGC Tank Designs

French LNG engineering firm GTT has secured an order from South Korea’s Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI) for designing the tanks of a new LNG carrier, it said on December 18.

The vessel, able to store up to 174,000 m3 of LNG, will have tanks fitted with GTT’s Mark III Flex membrane containment system. It will be delivered in the first quarter of 2022 to an Asian shipowner whose name is currently confidential.

“We are delighted with the continued confidence of our long-term partner HSHI with this new order,” GTT CEO Philippe Berterottiere said.

Earlier this month GTT also scored an order from Chinese shipyard Hudong-Zhonghua for tank designs at an LNG bunkering vessel.
