GTT Wins Order for LNG Storage Tanks

French LNG tech firm GTT has received an order from South Korea's Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) shipyard for tank designs for two LNG floating storage units (FSUs), the largest of their kind, it said on June 30.

The FSUs, each with a capacity of 361,600 m³ and fitted with GTT's NO96 GW membrane cryogenic containment systems, will be built on behalf of Russian state leading firm GTLK. They will be used in Murmansk and Kamchatka, at transhipment terminals Novatek is developing to facilitate its Arctic LNG exports. Each will be able to hold the cargoes of two Arc-7 LNG tankers that serve that and future Arctic projects and can carry about 174,000 m³ LNG each.

Their delivery is scheduled for the end of 2022. DSME won a contract to build the two FSUs, with an option to construct two more, in June.
