Halliburton and Gazprom Sign International Cooperation Deal

Halliburton has announced that it has signed a deal with Gazprom International which would see the two companies cooperate on oil and gas projects worldwide.

In a statement released by Halliburton, the company says the Strategic Cooperation Agreement will see the pair collaborating on a range of projects, with Halliburton set to train Gazprom International personnel in a number of areas, including tight gas and deepwater technologies.

Through the agreement, Halliburton will also provide technologies to Gazprom International for its projects.

Gazprom International says the agreement will give it a competitive edge in its operations and open up more areas for the company.

"We expect that cooperation with Halliburton will extend our engineering capability, improve Gazprom International’s competitive performance, and broaden the range of our possibilities in the areas of exploration and development of hydrocarbons,"  managing director for Gazprom International Valeriy Gulev said.

Halliburton said it looked forward to building its relationship with Gazprom.

"This agreement provides an opportunity for Gazprom International and Halliburton to mutually benefit from the implementation of these technologies and to build a closer strategic working relationship," Halliburton senior vice president of Business Development for the Eastern Hemisphere Brady Murphy said.
