Henry Hub marching back toward $4/mn Btu
The US benchmark for the price of natural gas was moving closer to the $4/mn Btu mark early in the December 16 trading session amid forecasts of inclement weather for parts of the continental US.
The January gas delivery contract at the US Henry Hub was up 3.4% as of 12:27 GMT at $3.93/mn Btu. Henry Hub finished the previous day up nearly 1.5% to close at $3.80/mn Btu.

Henry Hub topped $6/mn Btu briefly in late October.
Prices early in the day may be influenced by expectations about US production and storage levels for natural gas. The US Energy Information Administration provides that data at 15:30 GMT.
In weather, much of the Great Lakes region is experiencing high winds and associated power outages brought on by gusts as strong as 95 km per hour. Further south and heavy rains are expected for parts of Kentucky, which is still recovering from a devastating tornado that formed in a similar weather pattern last week.
Any rain in the region turns into a wintry mix of ice and snow during the weekend.
