Hinduja in talks with Qatar for sourcing gas for India projects
The Hinduja Group is said to be in discussions with the Qatar government for sourcing gas for its future power projects along the eastern coast of India.
The company is expected to commission the first phase of its Vizag power project with a capacity of 520 mw by June 2013 and the second unit with a similar capacity will be ready by September same year
At the moment sourcing gas is expensive as the gas prices which Qatar offers in India are linked to Japanese crude cocktail.
The UK based company was in talks with the Qatar government to bring down the cost and also participate in the setting up of terminals in India.
