Hiroshima Gas, Tokyo Gas Receive 1st Joint LNG Cargo

The first joint LNG cargo procured by Japanese utilities Hiroshima Gas and Tokyo Gas and transported by Tokyo LNG Tanker Co. arrived at the Hatsukaichi LNG terminal in Hiroshima on June 15, the two utilities said in a joint statement the same day.

The commingling cargo arrived under the LNG transportation agreement that was signed by Hiroshima Gas, Tokyo Gas and Tokyo LNG Tanker in February 2020, under which LNG procured by the two utilities from Sakhalin Island in Russia would be jointly transported by an LNG carrier owned and operated by Tokyo LNG Tanker for a period of eight years from 2020 to 2027.

Hiroshima Gas and Tokyo Gas said they will continue to provide a stable supply of city gas and aim to further the usage of natural gas through the realisation of a stable supply of energy.
