Horizon Oil's Ketu-2 Well Flowing Gas

Horizon Oil has said that its Ketu-2 well Papua New Guinea 's Western Province was flowing over 20 million cubic feet of gas.

“This is a very encouraging result and supports a good level of well productivity for future commercialisation of the field,” the company said.

Horizon plans to establish a stable maximum gas rate and then perform a multi-rate test to establish the well capacity profile. A retrievable plug will then be set and the well suspended until required for further testing and service.

Ketu-2 was designed to penetrate the Elevala sandstone at a location 8.9 km southeast of the Ketu-1 discovery well to determine the extent of the accumulation in that direction and the level of trap fill.
